Known by locals and expats as the absolute top sushi restaurant in Tokyo, Kyubei, will absolutely blow you away. The freshest and best sushi is served and prepared for you by some of Tokyo's master sushi chefs. One of our absolute favourite meals in Tokyo. The city is choc full of great restaurants and we are making a point to return to this place so that should tell you something. The food style is teppan yaki, so make a ressie to sit in front of the chef. Amazing Italian specialties, beautifully married to Japanese style, and fantastic wine. Like the rest of Tokyo, this ain't cheap, but every morsel of the meal was divine and totally worth it. Everyone must go to the Fish Market in Tokyo at least once. We recommend staying up all night and hitting the ground running at 4:30am. Be careful of the trolleys whizzing by and note that a pair of rain boots may be appropriate attire (and not your new Louboutains). Venture in as deep as you can. Although being immersed in all that freshly slain poisson may not whet your appetite, we urge you to seek out one of the surrounding little restaurants and have an early breakfast of the freshest sushi in the world. Locals as well as tourists venture there in the wee hours.

The journey up the Mekong River from Luang Prabang, Laos to Chiang Rai , Thailand takes two full days, but it is a perfect way to truly get away from it all; reconnecting with nature, making stops en route to visit local villages and centuries old caves, and relaxing on board the beautifully restored vessel. The overnight stay at Luang Say Lodge is quite rustic (along the lines of a cabin), but "roughing it" for one night was worth it to experience this unique journey through such an untouched part of the world.
