On A Wynning Streak

Minutes from home, but miles away in terms of space, dining and tropical holiday ambience, a weekend in Macau is always a decadent and welcome treat. And even more so when that weekend happens to be at the ultra-luxurious, recently redesigned, surprisingly intimate Wynn Macau.  Want a little sneak peek at this newly nipped and tucked mega-star? Hop on the ferry and come with us on a fairytale weekend to a land not so far away…

Saturday, 3pm – Checking-in: The Wynn Tower’s new one-bedroom suite takes our breath away with its giant living room, full wet bar, Nespresso machine, massage area, killer views, and a bathroom bigger than most HK apartments with a state of the art jacuzzi tub that fills up in seconds. It was love at first bubble!

Saturday, 5pm – Some people go to Macau for the casinos, we go for the R & R! The Spa at Wynn’s signature “Silk & Cashmere Awakening” treatment, which includes a purifying exfoliation, a light massage using warm silk gloves, a deeper full-body massage with warmed lotus oil, and a cashmere infused silk body wrap sends us into a deep state of calm, erasing any traces of HK’s kinetic energy, and leaving us reenergized and ready for the night ahead.

Saturday, 7:30pm – Shaken not stirred, stellar poolside cocktails at Cinnebar amidst the tropical breezes and azure waters make this truly feel like a holiday.

Saturday, 8:30pm – We take our front row seats to one of the most spectacular water, music and light shows on the planet at the famous Il Teatro restaurant. The only thing that could compete with the performance were the dazzling dishes coming out of the kitchen. The tasting menu to end all tasting menus started with perfectly grilled Lobster panzanella salad with avocado, before moving onto Black angel hair pasta with Sicilian red prawns, Pan-seared Queen Bay scallops with artichoke risotto, and Rigatoni al pomodoro with braised Kurobuta pork, and finishing with US prime beef tenderloin with braised beef short rib, and a crunchy hazelnut, ice-cream dessert.

Saturday, 12midnight – We make Cinderella’s curfew and tuck in to our dream-like beds for a blissful night’s sleep.

Sunday, 10am – After a royal lie-in, we make our way down to Café Esplanade for breakfast with a perfect pool view, before hitting the cabanas for a little sun and a good read!

Sunday, 2pm – We say goodbye to our palace away from home and get ready to head back to the ferry, and reality!

Guess you don’t always have to play the tables to Wynn…
