Get a Clue

Looking for a secret locale? A surreal dining experience? Just a cool place to chill? Escape reality to a new spot that will keep you guessing. Where? We’ll give you a few clues…

Miss Scarlett, in the Lounge, with the revolver?
Play detective at Kowloon’s first boutique hotel, The Luxe Manor, a modern replica of a European mansion, filled with mystery, intrigue and even a little bit of magic. Conceptualized by Hong Kong designer David Buffery, the hotel’s décor melds fantasy and reality, creating an environment that is truly surreal. Find out whodunnit in the cartoon-like guestrooms, where televisions are hidden within picture frames, pink glass desks have four completely different wooden legs and windows have bright orange curtains that look as if they belong in a burlesque show. Or, disguise yourself in one of their six over-the-top theme suites, ranging from “Safari” to “Nordic” to “Hollywood.” Look for suspect characters hiding in the bars and lounges of nearby Knutsford Terrace.

Professor Plum, in the Dining Room, with the candlestick?
Aspasia, the hotel’s first signature restaurant, boasts four distinctive areas for you to work on your case. The Bar has an impressive wine cellar, ideal for getting Mrs. Peacock to spill her secrets. The Parlour, the restaurant’s main dining area, features plush sofas and elegant tables, perfectly suited for Colonel Mustard. The Study is a bit more low-key, ideal for whispering with Mrs. White. And the Conservatory is where you’ll find Rev. Green reclining in the evenings.

The paradoxes in the hotel continue through the food in a menu complete with eccentric edibles and bizarre bites (think black truffle ice cream!). Chef Roland Schuller, whose illustrious past includes a stint as Executive Chef on the famous Christina O yacht, brings an innovative approach to Mediterranean cuisine. Try the salt and pepper spaghetti or the lamb rack with goat cheese mashed potatoes, and you’re sure to leave no evidence behind. Their secret weapon is dessert—whiskey fried brioche!

A discreet lounge on the second floor will take this game to a whole new level. Set to open this spring, it will feature British house music and private dining rooms for up to 12 guests. Plenty of room for six suspects and their weapons.
