Fashion Fast-Forward

Hong Kong’s “Material Girls” (and boys!) can start singing to a new tune on March 10, when trendsetting super store Hennes & Mauritz opens its doors on Queen’s Road Central. H&M currently has over 1,300 stores in 24 countries, however this will be the chain’s first time crossing over the “Borderline” into Asia, with further HK outposts and a Shanghai store set to open later this year.

Famous for its collaborations with world-renowned desiners, H&M will bring cutting-edge style and excellent value together in a city that was previously “Like a Virgin” to the notion of affordable luxury. H&M’s spring/summer collection will rewind to bygone eras of glamour inspired by 1950’s ballroom beauties, 1960’s legendary couture and 1970’s smart elegance. You can bet your “Lucky Star” that you will find sexy shirts, dramatic dresses, trendy trousers and jaw-dropping jewels all at prices that you will “Cherish.”

Stella’s styles have been “Hung Up” there, Karl’s creations have taken us on “Holiday” and now it’s Madonna’s chance to “Express Herself” as H&M’s newest collaborative designer. Hong Kong style-mavens can “Get into the Groove” of Madonna’s timeless, glamorous pieces two weeks before the rest of the world, with a pre-sale of the M by Madonna collection, especially for the HK store.

With accessible fashion at our fingertips, Hong Kong will evolve into a sexy “Isla Bonita” just in time for summer. H&M’s hot-off-the-catwalk looks make it easy to strike a pose anywhere—from the beaches of Lantau to the buildings of Cyberport—there’s nothing to it! Vogue, Vogue, Vogue.
