Dancing in the Streets

Callin’ out around the world, are you ready for a brand new beat? Summer’s here and the time is right, for dancing in the streets… From the winding waterways to the picturesque piazzas to the striking Campanile Tower, they’ll be nothing but dancing in the streets of The Venetian Macao this weekend. From Friday, May 25 – Sunday, May 27, the second annual Venetian Carnival promises a three-day non-stop music, food and drinks festival that will keep you on your toes all weekend long.

Dancing in the StreetsThey’re dancin’ in Chicago, down in New Orleans… and that’s exactly where you’ll be transported to, with this year’s Mardi Gras theme featuring a nightly parade of brass bands, street performers, magicians, singers, theme-decorated booths, international food stands, beer gardens, and more. On Friday (7pm) and Saturday (4pm), the night’s entertainment will kick off with an International Jazz Festival featuring 6 live bands. Then on the main stage, a live “Battle of the Bands” featuring 12 of the world’s best Jazz & Blues bands, will ensue culminating in a grand finale standoff on Sunday evening (10pm). Slip into your mask and layer on some beads for a weekend of uninhibited revelry in The Big Easy!

All we need is music, sweet music, they’ll be music everywhere… Friday evening, May 25th at 9pm, Ten-time Grammy Award winning jazz legend George Benson will give his first-ever live concert in Macao – An Evening with George Benson – at The Venetian Theatre. The night promises to be a treat for all the senses with a “best of” selection of Benson’s much adored mix of jazz, pop and R & B, along with his stellar guitar stylings, which have earned him the nickname “Guitar Man.”  The concert will be one of the first to take place in the newly launched Venetian Theatre, an intimate and upscale venue featuring champagne service, gourmet snacks and exclusive amenities, bringing the concert experience in Macao to a new level of luxury. Tickets start at MOP400 and can be booked online at http://www.CotaiTicketing.com, or by calling +852 6333 6660.  Don’t miss the chance to see one of the world’s greatest Jazz legends right in your own backyard!

This is an invitation, across the nation… On Saturday, May 26th, the stars will come out to play for The Venetian Carnival Mardi Gras Costume Charity Ball, Macao’s top social event of the season. Performances by New Orleans famous The Michael Foster Brass Band, four-time Grammy nominees The Pine Leaf Boys and The Nevilles will keep the dance floor alight late into the evening hours.

Oh it doesn’t matter what you wear, just as long as you are there… If all that dancing has left you ready to put on your pajamas, why not stay the night? Your Royale Suite awaits with a special Rewards Package including Accommodations, Breakfast, CotaiJet Tickets and MOP500 Rewards Dollars for shopping, dining, spa and entertainment.

They’ll be swingin’, swaying and records playin’… see you in the streets at The Venetian Carnival!
