A La Carte White Truffle Specials at Le Mistral, Grissini and H One
Some people would bet on precious diamonds and gold…we’ll put our money where our mouth wants to be, in white truffles. The white diamonds of the culinary world are making their way into a la carte dishes at a number of restaurants around town. At Le Mistral, fresh shipments are arriving daily from the forests of Alba, Italy and being shaved into such specialties as beef carpaccio with lemon, truffle dressing and artichoke and Mascarpone cheese risotto with fresh green asparagus and truffle essence (2731 2870). Chef Marco Torre at Grissini has designed a special truffle menu featuring four-month aged Vicoforte fondue with Italian egg yolk, chestnut soup with lobster and rosemary, and traditional Piedmont meat ravioli with fresh occelli butter and meat jus (2584 7933). And at H One, paper-thin slivers of these prized delicacies will be used to create dishes like Sardinian sea bass carpaccio with celery and porcini mushroom salad and pan-fried veal fillet with foie gras and morelle mushroom sauce (2805 0638).

Dim Sum Lunch for Charity at Spring Moon
Charity, history and celebration will come together in one fantastic lunch to commemorate The Peninsula Hong Kong’s monumental 80th birthday this autumn. On November 9th, Spring Moon will serve a very special lunch for HK$1,928 for a group of four people. Gourmet dim sum starters include lobster dumplings, abalone siu mai and foie gras fried taro puffs. Other menu highlights are fresh crabmeat dumplings in supreme soup, garoupa fillet pan-fried with spring onion and soy sauce, stewed beef wrapped around asparagus in satay sauce, and braised rice vermicelli with shark’s fin and bean sprouts.
