Carrie On with World Cup Fever

If you thought that the girls from Sex and the City and the boys heading out to the World Cup couldn’t be from more different worlds, think again! These boys and girls love living life to the fullest and on the edge, the racier and more adrenaline-charged the better. Playing the field? It’s second nature to both. Looking good? It’s part of the job title. Living the high life? Well, someone’s got to do it! Whether you liken yourself to a SATC diva or a football legend (or both!), put your best foot forward and get ready for some action, passion and fun over the next few weeks as the World Cup kicks off and we get Carried Away all over again!

The Legendary Leaders
The Players: Carrie Bradshaw // Lionel Messi (Argentina)
Known for their quick wit and smooth moves (not to mention their flowing hair!) they are destined to be the leaders of any team they play on, and their skillful style and grace on and off the field will ensure they go down in history.
Where would they watch a game?
Dragon-I – The outdoor terrace, normally home to the city’s most stylish dim sum as well as many a wayfaring model, will play host to the World Cup action over the next month, with oversize screens, ample seating and breezy chic outdoor fans. Who knows, you just might find a catch! (60 Wyndham Street, Central, 3110 1222)

The Fierce Contenders
The Players: Miranda Hobbes // Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast)
Sharp as a tack, fiercely loyal, and almost impossible to beat, they are fervently passionate, full of surprises and always ready for a little competition.
Where would they watch a game?
RED SoHo – With 6-oversize high definition screens capturing the action throughout the World Cup, you won’t miss a single bead of sweat. And if you drink enough, you could even win an all-inclusive trip to South Africa to watch the final (each Stella Artois or cocktail purchase entitles you to additional raffle tickets). Don’t miss: Dim Sum & Then Some and RED’s live screening and celebration of the highly anticipated Portugal vs. Cote d’Ivoire match, Tuesday, June 15th at 9:30pm. (2/F, Kinwick Centre, 32 Hollywood Road, Central, 8199 8189)

The Strong Competitors
The Players: Charlotte York Goldenblatt // Wayne Rooney (England)
Less scandalous than the company they keep, they are reliable, good-willed, remarkably skilled and you can count on them for a fabulous delivery.
Where would they watch a game?
Kila – The just opened contemporary Irish pub, opening out to cobblestone Pottinger Street, is a cosy and inviting spot to enjoy the matches. Plus, you will be able to make small bets throughout the games for a chance to win a complimentary bar tab, and proceeds will be split between the Umbrella Foundation in Nepal and Po Leung Kuk Orphanage in Hong Kong. (79 Wyndham Street, Central, 2522 8118)

The Slick Showstoppers
The Players: Samantha Jones // Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
They are total bombshells that never fail to make an entrance, leaving admirers swooning in their trail. Their lust for fun and mischief is unprecedented and did we mention their physical perfection?
Where would they go:
Tazmania Ballroom – Oversize screens will adorn the walls inside the uber cool world of Tazmania Ballroom. Watch all the drama unfold on the field as you sip cocktails and kick back in this sleek and gorgeously decorated home away from home for the supermodel crowd. (1/F, LKF Tower, 33 Wyndham Street, Central, 2801 5009)

The countdown has started and the excitement is barely containable. Let the celebrations begin with our Sex and the City Party tonight at M1NT and let’s all get Carried Away with football fever at our World Cup Party at RED SoHo on Tuesday! We’ll just see who scores first!
