Brunch Brigade

Little is more satisfying than rolling out of bed at midday to catch up with friends over a leisurely bite. When it comes to brunches, we’re spoilt for choice in Hong Kong. These contenders offer something a tad more exotic than your standard eggs and bacon…

What’s so special: Modern Asian delights, now available in the day lucky for us!
Get out of bed for: Eggs benedict like you’ve never seen it – encased in the original egg shell with coddled yolk, hollandaise, croutons and bacon bits.
Cherry on top: End with the maple bacon ice-cream sandwich which sums up everything we love about the most important meal of the day.

What’s so special: British classics for the breakfast purist
Get out of bed for: The fluffy, oversized blueberry buttermilk pancake and French toast with caramelized apple and cinnamon cream
Cherry on top: Brunching on the terrace is a fantastic way to start the day, and a rarity in town.

What’s so special: American comfort food meets Malaysian spice
Get out of bed for: Fried chicken and waffles with smoked maple syrup, sriracha and fried Thai basil and the kaya toast with coconut-pandan custard and mango. Enough said!
Cherry on top:  Hair of the dog? It’s all about Bloody Marys and mimosas here.

What’s so special: Hearty Italian four-course extravaganza
Get out of bed for: Goose liver terrine with green apple compote, spaghetti carbonara, veal osso bucco and saffron risotto. What’s a weekend without a little indulgence?

What’s so special: Where else combines the best of American, Mexican AND Korean fare?
Get out of bed for: The breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, sausage, black beans, sweet potato hash and cheese in a soft tortilla. Huevos Americanos also a winner – sunny-side up eggs with bacon, refried beans and salsa atop corn tortillas.
Cherry on top: Finish with the delectable tres leches cake and spiced brownie – they’re small so order both!

What’s so special: Hidden K-Town gem
Get out of bed for: We fell in love with the French toast, candied peach & raspberry, mascarpone cream and pomegranate. The B.W.T- Bacon, watercress, tomato, Japanese mayo, fried white bread and fries was another hit.
Cherry on top: Dog-friendly if you want to bring four-legged family members along.

What’s so special: Pancake lovers – this one’s for you. They come in every flavour imaginable.
Get out of bed for: If you prefer savoury, go for Mr Benedict’s Duck – poached duck eggs with bacon on pancakes. Those with a sweet tooth should opt for Granny’s pancakes, drizzled with butter and maple syrup, and topped with chopped almonds and almond ice cream.
Cherry on top: Stays open till late and the cocktails are kickass. Try the Alcoholic’s Breakfast, which combines vodka and coffee!
