A Sultry Night in Old Havana – DSTS 3rd Anniversary Party

Marlon Brando, Sammy Davis Jr. and Greta Garbo all frequented Havana in the 1940′s and 50′s, a time when lounge-style planes filled with celebs and high society left from Miami to the enchanted island hourly and the city’s nightclubs were alight with vibrant dancing until dawn. Never has a party compared to those decadent times gone by. . . until now!

On Wednesday, March 17th, Dim Sum & Then Some, brought together more than 450 Hong Kong trendsetters and opinion leaders to experience all the passion, glitz and glamour of Cuba in its heyday at their talk-of-the-town 3rd Anniversary Party.

Hong Kong’s own exclusive hangout for visiting celebs, KEE Club was transformed into a 1950′s Havana Social Club, especially for Dim Sum & Then Some’s anniversary soiree. Café tables and red leather sofas were placed throughout the venue to set the scene and Hong Kong’s only Cuban band “Dos Latinos” accompanied by renowned vocalist Christine Remedios, got the fire going on the dance floor with their vibrant musical stylings. As “Guantanamera” filled the air, a combination of salsa and tango heated up the dance floor when a foursome from worldwide dance sensation Ceroc took to the stage. And as the night wound on, the legendary DJ Doz took guests late into the evening hours with a combination of Latin and modern sounds.

Mojitos and Cuba Libre cocktails in hand, guests toasted to another year of DSTS success while feasting on a giant custom chocolate truffle birthday cake adorned with exotic palm trees, which was especially designed for Dim Sum & Then Some’s 3rd Birthday by Hong Kong based luxury chocolatier VERO. For one lucky winner the night got even hotter. W Retreat Koh Samui, which is set to rival Old Havana as the world’s next great island sensation and party hotspot when it opens this summer, would be her playground later this year as she and a guest experienced the fabulous grand prize for the evening including: 2 nights stay at the W Retreat Koh Samui, inclusive of breakfast for 2, roundtrip airport transfers with their signature W Wheels, and a Spa Ritual at the one and only Thaimazcal.

From Mojito fuelled decadence to the sizzling dance floor to the swaying feathered fans to the spectrum of vibrant coloured dresses and warmed toned lights, this was a night that brought the charm of Old Havana to Hong Kong and set the stage for another fabulous year of Dim Sum and Then Some fun. Uno, Dos Tres! Feliz Cumpleanos Dim Sum & Then Some!
