A Hell of a Night

The remake of the classic horror movie Halloween premieres at cinemas today, but there’s no need to go Psycho if you can’t get tickets.  There are lots of other ways to pay tribute to your favourite films d’horreur. Sharpen your partying skills, break out your killer costume and get ready to stay out till the witching hours, cause this Halloween’s gonna be one hell of a night!

The Shining
All work and no play make you a dull boy! It’s time to go crazy at RED Bar + Restaurant (27 October, 9pm-late, 8129 8882) where you’ll be treated to $50 standard drinks all night long. Vodka and Tequila Ice Slides will help fuel the madness, while dressing in a spooky costume will ensure a free cocktail on the house.  You’ll be chanting Redrum, Redrum in no time…

Friday the 13th
You may not find Crystal Lake, but you will discover a Garden of Temptation at JJ’s (27 October, from 10pm) this Halloween. Indulge in forbidden fruit in the form of Apple Martinis and leave your sins on the dance floor as you groove to the funk and jungle beats of Hong Kong’s renowned DJ Arun R. The club will be so filled with lush foliage that you’ll never know who’s lurking around the corner…

The Ring
Leave your video tapes at home and get ready for a chilling night at The Ring at MO Bar (31 October, from 9pm, 2132 0077). Wild horses couldn’t drag us from this event, which will feature wicked sounds from international DJ Andrew Spence from Canada, complimentary canapés, and special Halloween cocktails including Bloody Mary’s and Tequila Shooters. Table reservations can be booked and the prize for the best costume will be a treatment at The Oriental Spa.  In just seven days, you will discover your fate…

Child’s Play
You’ll wish it was only make believe as you enter the spooky candle-lit cavern of Azure (18, 26-27, 31 October, 3518 9330) this Halloween.  Feast on Scary Shrimp Tempura and Chilling Chicken Wings as you down cocktails like Chucky’s Offspring and Sweet Horror.  Only dolls allowed!

Eyes Wide Shut
Get your tuxedo out and your mask ready for Prive’s Eyes Wide Shut Party (27 October, 2850 6285). With sultry sounds by DJ Spin Easy and bubbles by Perrier-Jouet, this sexy party will lure out even the most primal of creatures.  We think you’ll probably want to have your eyes wide open!

Put on everyone’s favourite mask and recreate the famous movie theatre scene at Le Rideau’s Red Curtain Halloween Party (31 October 8pm, 2850 8833).  Freaky live acts, all you can drink Witches Brew, Horrors d’ oeuvres and the Most Outlandish Costume Contest should keep you occupied ‘til the closing credits!

The only thing scarier than these movies is you the morning after!
