Something New, Something BleuThe honour of your presence is requested at…Hullet House’s Annual Cheese Festival! From Thursday, September 20th – Monday September 24th, HK’s history-filled hotel property will be putting on a 5-day palate-pleasing extravaganza showcasing over 80 specially selected gourmet European cheeses.

For the first time, Hullett House will bring together a marriage of meticulously selected French and Italian cheeses — a match made in foodie heaven — many of which have never been available before in Hong Kong. Mystify your taste buds with innovative French delights including ‘Wasabique’ a creamy goat’s cheese blended with Japanese wasabi, at one of the Workshops. Or shave some traditional Italian ‘Parmigiano Reggiano’ over a bowl of exquisite handmade pasta at one of the Gourmet Dinners.

Whether you’re a tried and true cheese aficionado or a casual cheese lover, you can indulge in a host of melt-in-your-mouth experiences this weekend. St. George’s Michelin-starred Executive Chef Philippe Orrico will present a series of creative Gourmet Dinner menus pairing cheese-centric dishes with everything from Single Malt Whiskeys to Boutique Champagnes. The Art of Cheese Workshops, led by two European Masters, were created for you to learn more about your favourite chevres, and include a topical lesson and tasting experience (HK$275). While the Cheese & Wine Tastings will present eight specialty cheeses and select wines in a casual setting where you can mix and mingle with Master Cheese Makers and wine experts from around the globe (from HK$300).

Prefer to try out a few flavours before you settle down, check out the European-style Cheese Market on Saturday, September 22nd from 12noon – 9pm and Sunday, September 23rd from 12noon – 7pm. An unprecedented range of cheeses will be on sale, along with a tempting selection of freshly baked breads, homemade pastries, cakes and jams, all of which can be taken home or enjoyed in the elegant Tea Room or in the beautiful gardens of Hullett House.

Whether you prefer something old world and traditional, something new and innovative, or something bleu, once you’ve settled on “the one” you’ll know it was meant to brie!
