InterContinental Hong Kong Celebrates 10 Years Taking birthday celebrations to a whole new level of spectacular fun two weeks ago was the InterContinental Hong Kong’s celebration of its 10th Anniversary as well as the launch of its stunning newly renovated ballroom.  The lavishly designed space now prides itself on the best of contemporary and luxurious design as well as being the largest pillarless ballroom amongst Hong Kong’s top hotels, featuring state-of-the-art facilities.  Inspired by the hotel’s unique position on Victoria Harbour, the interior reflects rich imagery of the harbour’s captivating currents and textures, waves and ripples, creating a positive flow of chi. It was the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable celebration.  HK’s Maria Chen was MC for the evening while InterContinental Hong Kong’s Managing Director Jean-Jacques Reibel welcomed VIP guests and clients and shared special highlights of the past decade at the iconic hotel. Culinary Action Stations  were all the rage as they showcased the chefs and exquisite cuisine from the hotel’s award-winning restaurants, including NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong, Spoon by Alain Ducasse, Yan Toh Heen and THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill.  Guest of honour, celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa was there personally showcasing his world famous cuisine to the guests.  Squeals of delight and awe were audible when the 2.4m high multi-tiered birthday cake arrived covered in 24 kt gold icing and celebratory toasts were made by the champagne tower composed of 500 glasses filled with 100 bottles of Perrier Jouet.  Australia’s Cocktail World Cup Champion Mixologist Ben Davidson prepared delectable cocktails while Howard McCrary’s big band dazzled guests with classic renditions.

It was a night like no other and a celebration of 10 outstanding years, and many more to come. Three cheers for the InterContinental Hong Kong!
