Giando Opens in WanchaiAhh, the Italians.  How they do things so well…. effortless style, flawless fashion, exquisite wine and sensational food. The latter you’ve had a love affair with from the moment you could say spaghetti.  Sing a hearty Buongiorno to Giando, bringing you a true taste of Italy in the heart of Wanchai.  Opened by the much-adored Gianni Caprioli, the former executive chef of Isola, Giando is set in Fenwick Pier commanding dazzling views of the Harbour.  Décor is warm and contemporary as is the service. Produce is flown in fresh from renowned suppliers across Italy and no attention to detail has been spared.  Standout dishes include the Mixed Fish Carpacccio marinated with Mediterranean Herbs, Hand Curved Pasta with Italian Sausage, Fava Beans and Black Truffles, Saffron Scented Risotto with Shrimps, Crabmeat and Tomatoes and the Stone Baked Pizzas.  Save room for dessert as the Sicilian Lemon Mouse with Amarena Cherries and Almonds is a show-stopper.  Lunch is served daily with a delectable salad buffet on offer and several signature pasta, pizza, meat and seafood dishes alongside a dessert of the day for only HK$228.

Decadent Sunday brunches are to follow. Afternoons should be cleared of plans as your tummy is sure to pass out with culinary happiness.  Which reminds us, another thing Italians do well is siesta… when in Rome!
