La MarmiteOn more than one occasion you’ve left your heart in Paris and dreamt of being transported back.  Those tree lined avenues, the pastries that you’d happily give up skinny jeans for, the style and panache that graces every street corner and not least the bistros where you can while away endless hours (or days) savouring mouth watering delights while people-watching and listening to French classics.  Well close your eyes and imagine that you are back in the heart of Paris…. Et Voila,  we have the next best thing!  Introducing La Marmite in Soho.  Brought to you by Aqua Restaurant Group, this delightful new addition to Staunton Street is named after the cast-iron cooking pot that has long been used in France to serve up the heartiest of dishes.  Classic bistro dishes are rotated weekly, with daily specials like Steak tartare with frites (HK$98)  and Poached cod ‘en grand aïoli’ (HK$198). While the à la carte menu includes hearty and delicious options like Whiting fish in caramelised caper butter with crushed new potatoes (HK$178) and Beef steak with shallots and sautéed potatoes (HK$198).
Classic desserts (HK$78) including traditional apple ‘tarte tatin’ with Calvados and authentic French Toast with salted butter caramel and Pastis ice cream are the perfect delectable finale.  Cancel your plane tickets this spring, Paris has (finally!) come to you.
