Around the World in 2 Days

Your last trip to Rajashthan was plagued by 49-degree heat and unspeakable stomach afflictions. A miscommunication during your ski trip in Switzerland landed you in the middle of a 50km sheep pasture, without a human in sight. And your overly intrepid safari guide in Zambia put you in a rather precarious position with a hungry white rhino. If your own travels don't seem to be going according to plan, why not take a trip around the world Lane Crawford style?

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, Lane Crawford Pacific Place home store presents "The New Artisans", an eclectic showcase of designers, creators and craftsmen from desirable and unique brands from around the world who will share insightful and intriguing tricks of their trades. Buckle up your seatbelt and come along for the ride. . .

Lane Crawford First stop, Japan, to visit with acclaimed Japanese furniture designer, So Takahashi, who will make a personal appearance to highlight his truly unique collection of origami chairs and stools. Next we're off to Europe for a stay in Denmark, where a craftsman from Hans Wegner, one of the most innovative and prolific Danish furniture manufacturers of the 20th century and creator of the legendary Wishbone Chair, will give a riveting chair re-construction presentation, a jaunt to the Netherlands for Piet Hein Eek's whimsical wooden furniture creations and a stopover in the UK for a look at Deadgood's modern bird-cage style wire pendant lights.

After all that jet-setting, go for a spa mini-break with Bamford and learn about the line's origin, ingredients, aromatherapy product range and spa secrets. Need a carry on bag? Bamford will also be giving an exclusive cotton tote bag valued at HK$300 with any purchase of three items or more. Take a trip behind the lens with an exhibition of Neil Reddy's work, which manipulates the tracks, pulses, and flares that light makes inside the camera as it travels across the negative, presented by The Michael Hoppen Gallery. And give your home the feel of a modern boutique hotel by taking home a pair of super-sleek Parrot by Philippe Starck iPod speakers, which will have their premier worldwide release this weekend at the Lane Crawford home store.

The food and drinks on offer would put any first class cabin to shame. Daylesford Organics will be presenting seven types of organic jam along with a selection of freshly baked organic breads, from 3-5pm each day. Kusmi Tea will be pouring three of their finest teas. A Nespresso coffee station, manned by two expert Baristas will be whipping up Espressos and Capuccinos all weekend, with twelve of their delectable coffee flavours. While mocktails and lemonade, created by professional mixologists will be sure to keep you refreshed and inspired.

The days are filled with interesting, exciting activities, the food is great, the atmosphere is inspiring and the beds are all made up with the finest Frette Linens. This could be the best trip you've taken in a while!
