Studio 54

The 70’s brought us Studio 54, the noughties bring us Hong Kong! All over town, art is being taken to a new level and cutting-edge fashion has stepped out of the malls and onto the most stylish urbanites in the world. MasterCard Luxury Week
Dim Sum and Then Some The flash of the cameras, the clatter of stilettos, the sheen of the latest designer accessories and the haughty whispers of the society set can only mean one thing…fashion week! This year, MasterCard’s Luxury Week will feature 14 professional catwalk shows over five days giving fashion lovers a first-hand glimpse of the Fall/Winter 2008 collections. With a team of international IMG supermodels, led by coveted showstopper Emma Pei, gracing the runways and designers like Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Jean Paul Gaultier, La Perla, Marc Jacobs (pictured), Oscar de la Renta, and Vera Wang showing their latest collections, this is set to be a week filled with ultra fabulous designer fun. Chivas Studio
Dim Sum and Then Some Mix two parts art, one part design, add a generous helping of music and blend with a shot of Chivas. Shake well and you’ll have Chivas Studio. After resounding success in New York, Miami, Madrid and Barcelona, Chivas Studio will debut in Asia from 4-6 September, bringing together an exuberant blend of design, art, music, gastronomy and mixology. Award-winning designer Michael Young will unveil the Chivas Fireworks Design Bar and Chivas 18Y.O. Shanghai Tang Luxury Barrel Bar Trunk. Wing Shya, Greater China's most celebrated fashion photographer, will release a new series of art photography, tailor-made for Chivas. DJ and street artist Ge-ology will blend music, fashion and art in a dramatic live performance using fashion as canvas. Legendary lyricist and rap god, NYC-based Pharoahe Monch and famous French VJ Maotik will be rockin’ this three-day event from morning until night. “Mind Games” at the Louis Vuitton Gallery
Dim Sum and Then Some Ever looked at a painting and wondered “what on earth was this guy thinking?” You’re not the only one. British photographer Hugo Tillman spent more than two years interviewing artists from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hangzhou, asking them about their dreams and fears and delving into their subconscious minds to bring us “Mind Games.” Now on display at the Louis Vuitton Gallery, this unique exhibit features compelling portraits of the stars of the contemporary Chinese art scene. The pieces are surreal and theatrical, offering a rare glimpse into who these people really are and the events in their lives that sparked their creative inspirations. “Luxury Reborn” Exhibition by Wing Shya
Dim Sum and Then Some No longer is it enough to be dripping with diamonds from our ears, necks, wrists and fingers…now we need to sport them on our bar tools too! Belvedere Vodka has teamed up with Jade Jagger to create the “Jagger Dagger,” an 18-carat white gold ice pick, studded with 12-carats of diamonds. This limited edition ice pick has been used at hot clubs around the world to create cocktails served with hand-cut ice in celebration of the launch of Belvedere’s cutting-edge “Luxury Reborn” advertising campaign. To keep the party going, Belvedere has launched a “Luxury Reborn” photography exhibition at revolutionary new Gallery Three in Hong Kong. Shot in Mumbai by world-renowned photographer, Wing Shya, the exhibit features the dazzling Jagger Dagger along with some of Mumbai’s most glamorous Bollywood stars and captures the intoxicating scenic beauty of the city. During the exhibition, a Belvedere Bar will be in service in the gallery and visitors are welcome to sample unique cocktail creations including Belvedere Orange and Belvedere Citrus while viewing the exhilarating photos.
