Sparkling in the City
Wednesday, December 5, 2007-- Dim Sum & Then Some and Calamansi Bijoux joined forces to host Sparkling in the City, a Holiday Party Inspired by Hong Kong’s Most Glamorous Gems, at Harvey Nichols Hong Kong.
Festive Fête
This exclusive event was the holiday party of the season. To set the scene, the halls of Harvey Nichols were decked with abundant Christmas trees, stunning red floral displays, and twinkling stars, casting a festive holiday glow. Hong Kong’s renowned DJ Maarten Goetheer, floated groovy international sounds throughout the shopping area, creating a chic party ambience. Guests feasted on delectable canapés from the 4th floor restaurant and stayed hydrated with FIJI Water, while Harvey Nichol’s private label wine and champagne flowed bountifully, ensuring a merry start to the holiday season!
Show-stopping Style
At 8pm, Fergie’s Glamorous filled the store signalling the start of the evening’s fashion show, which featured none of the usual pouty size 0, 6 ft tall models, and instead presented some of Hong Kong’s most inspirational women, full of smiles, charm and charisma. Each of the beautiful ladies showcased distinctive pieces from Calamansi Bijoux’s stunning jewellery collection, which highlighted their striking personalities and unique styles on the catwalk, making for a truly special fashion show, unlike anything Hong Kong’s runways have ever seen before.
Design & Inspiration
Event attendees had the chance to meet Caroline Caër and Agnès Caër-Piras, the gorgeous French sisters behind Calamansi Bijoux’s tres chic and ultra-wearable line, and were the first to try on and buy pieces from the newly revealed winter collection. Calamansi displayed over 250 unique pieces featuring their signature fine stones and pearls, the ultimate accessories for any glamour girl’s winter wardrobe. A percentage of proceeds from the evening’s sales were given to the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children, one of Hong Kong’s longest standing children’s charities, just in time for the holidays!
Gorgeously Gifted
Sparkling in the City guests had the chance to start Christmas early with exciting gifts and prizes to help carry them through winter. After the fashion show, all attendees received delectable Italian chocolate truffles in festive gold wrappers, a few of which held the tickets for the night’s winning prizes. Lucky Dim Sum & Then Some readers had the opportunity to win a 2-night stay at the recently opened JIA Boutique Hotel Shanghai, one of two SilverBlack Cards, the lifestyle and privilege card of Hong Kong’s elite, and one of two custom sets of Calamansi Bijoux jewelery, featuring winter-white fresh water pearls.
In a night filled with beautiful, inspirational women, charitable donations to Hong Kong’s children and the glimmer of glamorous gems…there was no question that this city is sparkling brighter than ever this holiday season!
