Meating Spot
There are steakhouses and there are swish, sleek rendezvous spots, and rarely do the two come together…until now! Fusion has waved its magic wand bringing gourmet hearty meals and contemporary style together, creating a sumptuously delicious recipe for success. Feeling carnivorous, but your hair's looking so good you just have to take it out for a twirl on the town? We've got the meating spots for you…
BLT Steak
For the rest of the world, a BLT suggests the traditional simple Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato sandwich. But for those in the know, the acronym BLT ignites excitement and whets the appetite for Bistro Laurent Tourondel, otherwise known as BLT Steak. The star-studded, much adored New York favourite has now opened its first restaurant in Asia at our very own Ocean Terminal. Enter through the cosy limestone foyer and into the warm and modern dining room with dark wood floors and antique brick walls to behold the jaw dropping harbour views. More than just a good cut of meat, the menu ticks the boxes of every other element you'd expect from a great meal. From the popovers with bubbling Gruyère to the Tuna Tartare with Avocado and Soy-Lime dressing to the side of Tomato Pomodo Gnocchi and, of course, the melt in your mouth USDA Prime, Certified Black Angus and Australian steaks, this meal will take your taste buds into a culinary sensory overload. And just when you thought you couldn't possibly fit in another bite, the dessert menu arrives to knock your socks off. The signature dessert, Crêpe Soufflé with Passion Fruit Sauce is so tantalizing it makes regular crêpes seem puny and bland, while the Tapioca Coconut Piña Colada Sundae is decadently refreshing and the Peanut Butter Chocolate Parfait will have you seeing stars. Between the innovatively fabulous cocktails and rockin' music playlist, you may end up bopping around the restaurant…but with food this good, we're sure you won't stray too far from the table! Dakota Prime
There couldn't be a more prime location for the fittingly named Dakota Prime steakhouse than the heart of Central. This swanky new restaurant, brought to us by the group behind Privé, has elevated the traditional steakhouse concept to a luxury dining experience. From the moment you walk into the lavish dining room you'll feel more like you've stepped into a New York penthouse than a steak restaurant. From intricate mirrors to exotic white oak flooring, to walls made of Italian Napa leather, this warm and modern space spares no room for the ordinary. Chef Adam Levin takes pride in using only the highest quality ingredients including USDA Super Prime and Japanese Kobe beef, and seafood flown in five times a week from the US, Canada and France. No freezers to be found here, your freshly imported choice cut of beef will be seared to perfection on the mesquite charcoal grill and served straight to your table. If you prefer surf to turf, you can choose from delicately grilled Porcini and Boston Lobster Salad, hearty Lobster Pot Pie, freshly steamed live Boston Lobster or one of the largest chilled seafood towers in town, chock full of jumbo shrimp, king crab legs, oysters and clams. Palate pleasing delicacies like premium French Foie Gras and Russian Caviar and sumptuous sides like Truffle Mac & Cheese will have no trouble finding a pairing within the restaurant's mammoth $10 million wine collection including more than a few award-winning bottles. Talk about raising the steaks! (7th Floor, LKF Tower, 33 Wyndham Street, Central, 2526 2366)
When it comes to steakhouses, these two are definitely rare. . .
