Billy Joel, our favourite Piano Man, and the creator of countless iconic classics, will be visiting HK for the first time ever this November. Get ready for a smattering of the 6-time Grammy award winner's greatest hits including Honesty, Only The Good Die Young, My Life and It's Still Rock and Roll To Me. If one night with Billy's not enough for you, not to worry. His music label has recently released “Piano Man: The Very Best of Billy Joel” (CD+DVD Gold Disc Edition) to the HK market, including 19 chart-topping hits as well as a Bonus DVD featuring 10 music videos and live shoots from his concerts, which should be sufficient to keep you in A New York State of Mind for The Longest Time. Yo-Yo Ma and the HK Philharmonic Orchestra
Dim Sum and Then Some Master of the cello Yo-Yo Ma will be performing with the HK Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the New Vision Arts Festival. This unique performance will allow you to see his curious and innovative style firsthand, and begin to understand why he has been acclaimed as one of the greatest performers of our time. In this very special performance directed by Singapore Symphony Music Director Lan Shui, you will hear a cello concerto written especially for Ma and the Boston Symphony by Argentinean composer Osvaldo Golijov, incorporating accordion and percussion parts to highlight the Latin flavour, as well as Spanish-accented music by composers from Mexico, France and Argentina. Kylie Minogue
Dim Sum and Then Some We started doing the Locomotion with Kylie in the 80's and we haven't stopped loving her unique voice and dazzling performances since. The tiny powerhouse of pop will have you Spinning Around in no time, should you Be So Lucky to get tickets to her upcoming show. The KylieX2008 tour, which began in Paris in May promises to wow you with acrobats, dancers, special effects and stunning performances that you won't soon forget. Hed Kandi
Dim Sum and Then Some Get your glowsticks out…world renowned international house music DJs Hed Kandi are back in HK this month as part of their World Series Tour. Headlining for the event will be Jim Breese, one of the most exciting DJ talents to emerge out of the UK club scene in the past decade and a celebrated guest at music institutions like Cafe Mambo in Ibiza and Ku De Ta in Bali. The event will also feature Peyton, a highly acclaimed vocalist who has worked with some of the world's leading artists, and is sure to blow us away with his stellar sounds.
